Title: Technical assistance in developing a coordinated national strategy of a master plan for implementation in the short term for the agro-industry, tourism industry and the mining industry

Project Location: Burundi

The objective of this project was to promote the sustainable development of the Burundi Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Post and Tourism (MCIPT) in order to contribute to the poverty eradication in ACP countries through regional integration and the gradual integration into the world economy.  The main deliverables of the project were to elaborate an industrial and commercial development awareness workshop, develop a synthesis of various constraints to competitiveness and supply channels and prepare a strategy document with a short term action plan.

The objectives were accomplished by providing technical assistance on production processes and developing sector strategies and action plans to promote sustainable development. Workshops that shared best practices and enhanced the capacity of the relevant stakeholders were also held.
